OH MR. PEANUT is looking for his forever family!!!!!!! Is it you??? Mr. Peanut is being cared for by the Carroll County Humane Society in McKenzie, TN (West TN) 731-352-9950 Mr. Peanut is the cutest little pocket pit in the history of pocket pits. His other breeding is supposed to be a fiest and that may be accurate but it certainly accounts for his size. He only weighs 22 pounds and is a little guy with the most wonderful socially awkward personality. He is stupid friendly and runs around like 'I love all the things but I am not sure what I am supposed to be doing with all the things.' He is great with other dogs, has never met a ... (Read More)stranger, and is just a great little sweet dog. He is timid when he hears loud voices and we suspect there was lots of yelling and shouting in his previous home because any loud voice sends him army crawling to his bed where he hunkers and waits for reassurance that all is right with the world. This is a great little dog who will make a wonderful family pet. Mr. Peanut is heartworm negative, current on his vaccines and is neutered. He is an awesome dog! His adoption fee is $100.00 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-11-03-00356Chandler (male)

Feist Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Chandler is around 10 months old and is a chocolate feist/lab/terrier mix puppy, weighs around 35 pounds, and even has partial webbed paws. He came into the rescue a few weeks back. Here is his story. We received a phone call from a panicked woman whose husband's cows were getting chased by dogs. She stated there was around 10 dogs and some had even got one cow down. One of the ladies with the rescue immediately made the trip out to the farm as the farmer wanted to just have the dogs removed if possible, but could not do nothing as this was his income and he had to feed his family. These dogs were not his and were a neighbor's dog who ... (Read More)refused to do anything. Chandler's original owner actually told the farmer to just shoot them (He only threw out dog food and did not help socialize any of these dogs who constantly reproduced). There is no Animal Control in this county to enforce a leash law or to assist in this situation. We were able to catch four puppies and Chandler. Chandler was scared but he wanted to be loved on. He was trapped into a kennel and never tried to escape. We think he knew that he would live to see another day. We immediately brought him home and started working with him. At first he would just lay down when you put a leash on him. He would not budge and would just lay there whining. He spent a week in the kennel getting adjusted and being quarantined. After that week, he started to blossom. I would walk to the kennel and he would just cry with excitement. He would hold his butt up in the air, put his head on the ground and just wag his tail like crazy. He has been spending some time inside with his new foster mom now. Chandler has improved while walking on the leash. He is comfortable around the house but going to new locations is still scary to him sometimes, but as long as you are there he is fine. He would not enter the house in the beginning and would have to be carried inside. He is now running into the house on his own which was a huge step for him. He also loves all his foster siblings, who are definitely helping him to come out of his shell. He has a comfort zone and doesn't like to venture from it but will if you want him to. When we go outside he doesn't like to leave the back porch or the backyard. He loves staying right by his person. He loves everyone he meets but will wait to be greeted. He loves his Great Dane sister, JRT brother, Hound sister, and two 8 week old puppy foster siblings. He does not mind the horses at his foster mom's house either. He hasn't had an accident while inside the house and is crate trained. He is heartworm negative, neutered, up to date on shots, and on monthly preventatives. His adoption fee is $150 locally and if out of state there will be an additional fee for transport and health certificate. Adoption fee includes complete vetting including spay/neuter and on monthly preventative. (Less)

Animal ID: 15-03-16-00312Riley (female)

Feist Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adult Women Only
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Feist Mix ~ Adult ~ Female ~ Small~ located at the Carroll County Humane Society McKenzie, TN~ Riley is a cute little dog with a big sad story. She showed up super pregnant at a construction site and it appears that she was dumped there - probably because she was prego. A kind person called a lot of kind people trying to get her some help, and a series of kind people stepped forward and Riley is a lucky girl for it. She went into foster care and had 6 beautiful puppies who have now been weaned. Riley is terribly shy with strangers, has special fear of men, and is afraid of loud noises. But, once she knows who you are, she LOVES you and only ... (Read More)wants to sit in your lap and tell you that you are in face the best thing in the history of the planet. Riley needs a home without small kids only because loud noises scare her and she will probably want to hide most of the time. She is great with other dogs - intimidated by them - but could benefit from the company of a friendly mellow dog who could help her come out of her shell. Riley is about 1.5 years old, 12 pounds, and heartworm negative. She is current on her vaccines and will be spayed before adoption. Please open your heart to a super sweet but sad little dog in need!
